Serbia: Some perspectives about Kosovo Metohia issue

Bg Anon shares his view:

[...] I put forward my view that Kosovo was / is for me above all a human rights issue and that the human rights situation needed to be remedied before status resolved. The right to nation state status can or should not be granted on the basis of ethnic cleansing and further if the situation for minorities in Kosovo is bad today, under the noses of the internationals, what would happen to Kosovo's minorities when the incentive to ‘behave' was removed completely? [...]

[...] CEFTA is viewed as a good thing by many economists as an element in Serbia’s transition to that of a free-trading liberal democracy, part of a wider regional economic area, too busy engaging in seamless free-trade to bother too much about emotive issues like Kosovo and the alike. Thus one would think that the economic liberalization principles of CEFTA would be warmly welcomed by the U.S embassy and indeed, over the years U.S government agencies and associated NGOs in Serbia have spent millions in tax dollars promoting such principles as part of their democratization programs. [...]

I agree, the dispute can be successfully resolved by boosting economy in the area. By stimulating small companies to act towards EU integration, we can solve numerous problems of Albanians, Serbs and other ethnicities in the province. At the point of integration, the region will become unique "Eurozone" with free flow of people and capital. That is why, economic liberalization principles of CEFTA can help the process of reconciliation.
