A profile of IFFPD

Vision

Working for a peaceful, democratic and free world.

Mission

Promoting peace, liberty, democracy, justice, human rights, security and prosperity.
The International Forum for Peace and Democracy (IFFPD) is a global affiliation of like-minded young democratic leaders with a common vision for the upliftment of all mankind.

The organisation’ s creation was prompted by the International Visiting Leadership Programme (IVLP) of the State Department of the United States of America . The IVLP’s outreach to young leaders around the world so moved a dynamic young Turkish democrat that he decided to gauge the feasibility of a grouping of young democrats as a global force for good. Accordingly, Tuna Beklevic, president of the Powerful Turkiye Party in Turkey , set in motion a chain of events that would lead to the creation of the International Forum for Peace and Democracy in Istanbul at the end of the first quarter of 2007.

He invited a total of 90 young democrats from 30 countries shortlisted from IVLP lists, all of whom converged on Istanbul at end March 2007 to explore what was termed a “Common Future Agreement”. Such was the enthusiasm of the group for the concept that the new organization was promptly formed with the election of an eight member Executive/Committee .
